After 15 hours through the night ive arrived at Rainbow Beach, a 30km stretch of white sand about two and a half hours north of Brisbane. The town is very small and there doesn't seem to be much going on, it appears to be mainly used as a hopping point over to Fraiser island, where i will head on the 27th.

Anyway, i believe its Christmas tomorrow so i will take this opportunity to wish you all an enjoyable day. As fun as it sounds basking in the sun next to the Pacific. There is definitely something to be missed in sitting in front of the fire in your new socks, consuming vast amounts of port and cheese. Enjoy. Merry Christmas all.

Merry Christmas Robin.

Hope you have a great few days.

The weather is miserable here, rain, hail, wind and thunder, lots of them all, plus snow is forecast. But I just can't imagine Christmas with sunshine, so I'll stick with the miserableness.
Something I've always wondered. Can you buy Christmas cards with snow scenes in Australia?

I'll drink a glass of Port (Porl bought me some) and have a sausage, stilton and stuffing butty for you... or maybe even 2. I'm missing the coal fire though.

Lots of Christmas love and hugs.

Celeste and Porl (who is waving at the monitor) and Duke and Gonzo (who are both a bit peeved at not being able to go outside because of the hail.)

Alright Robin. I've been having fun doing handbrake turns in the snow, and no, I havn't crashed yet! Don't worry about not feeling too Christmasy, there is such thing as too much sitting in front of the fire, getting pissed and stuffing your face! (Did I say that out loud?) On a more serious note... How are your buddies back in Thailand? Has the earthquake affected anyone you know?
Greetings from an icey Ormskirk.

Hello Robin,

A quick line to say "HAPPY CHRISTMAS" and send you lots of love and good wishes from Nick, Gill and Charlie. We've just had a white Christmas here in Derbyshire. S-s-s-now and f-f-f-reezing weather. Hard for you to imagine, over there, isn't it...

Wow - your adventures keep coming thick and fast. We're glued to your blog. Brilliant reading - makes my bedtime paperback thriller seem dull ! A big thank you for sharing it with us back home.

I was really relieved that you missed out on the ultimate adventure and didn't get caught up in the nightmare tsunami in the Indian Ocean. Thank heaven you had moved on from Asia to Aus and missed it all. Places you enjoyed only a few weeks back have been completely trashed. From pictures we see on the news, I'm sure very many of your fellow travellers and locals you met weren't so lucky as you...

We really enjoyed our own travels around Northern Queensland. The reef and the rainforest are so breathtakingly beautiful. Enjoy.

Keep away from those sharks and jellies. Happy travels and stay cool and safe. I'm off outside in sub-zero temperatures to get some logs for the fire to keep us warm !

... and have a really HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Loads of love,

Nick The Godfather xxx
